SRINAGAR: Asserting that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is favourable, Chairperson of J&K Wakf Board, Darakshan Andrabi, stated on Wednesday that the BJP is prepared for elections, and the party workers are enthusiastic. However, she added that the Election Commission of India (ECI) will ultimately decide on the polls.
According to the news agency KNO, she made these remarks during an interaction with the media on the sidelines of a party event in the northern district of Kupwara. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is conducting youth engagement programmes across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the valley, as part of the 9 Saal Bemisaal campaign to commemorate the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi-led government.
A motorcycle rally was organised today in north Kashmir from Baramulla to Kupwara, as part of the ongoing youth engagement programme.
Andrabi mentioned that their objective is not only to organise events in the Kashmir valley but also to acknowledge the work accomplished in the past nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Every central government scheme, benefit, and other initiatives have reached deserving individuals and families at the grassroots level,” she said. “The schemes have been implemented on the ground level, which has been verified by the administration and party associates as well.”
When asked about elections in J&K and whether the BJP was ready for them, Andrabi responded, “It depends on the Election Commission of India. The ECI has to make the final decision on polls in J&K. The BJP is prepared for the elections. We are awaiting the announcements. Whenever the elections take place, the BJP is ready to contest.”
She added, “We have presented a report card of nine years of progress achieved by the Modi-led central government to the people. We have successfully achieved the target of reaching out to the poorest individuals across Jammu and Kashmir.”
Referring to the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Chairperson of Wafq stated that now every individual can avail free treatment without any concerns. “Every patient is benefiting from the scheme.”
Regarding the Ujwala scheme, she mentioned that it has brought unimaginable relief to women who were previously suffering in various ways. “In impoverished families, women used to face difficulties and hardships in cooking. But the Ujwala gas scheme has eased their lives. Every underprivileged person is now benefiting from it, providing them a life without hardships,” she praised PM Modi.
Andrabi stated that over two lakh houses will be provided to the homeless in Jammu and Kashmir.
She further expressed that Jammu and Kashmir will become a hub for industrial revolution. “The economy of the region will be developed by promoting the industrial revolution, which will address unemployment in the region,” she stated, while outlining the BJP’s plans.
Responding to a question, Andrabi said that the opposition is free to make comments as they wish. “They should introspect and examine the level of corruption that occurred earlier. Our government strongly opposes corruption, and prompt action is taken against any official found engaging in such practices. We will never tolerate corruption at any cost,” she affirmed.
Regarding the situation in the region, she remarked that everything is normal. “The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is a gift from PM Modi. He is once again transforming this region into paradise.” (KNO)
