Rs 140 Cr 1.08 Km Ramban Viaduct Inaugurated Finally

SRINAGAR: A remarkable infrastructure development project has been completed in Ramban, with the inauguration of a new 1.08 km long, 2-lane viaduct on the Udhampur-Ramban section of NH-44.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 140 Crore, this viaduct aims to improve traffic flow, ease congestion in Ramban Bazar, and ensure seamless movement of vehicles, especially during the Amarnath Yatra on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway 44.

The viaduct, consisting of 26 spans, incorporates a combination of concrete and steel girders, showcasing various structural arrangements. Its completion marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, a parallel 2-lane viaduct, running adjacent to the recently completed structure, is nearing its final stages of construction and is expected to be opened to the public soon. This additional infrastructure project aims to further improve traffic management and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles in the area.

Expressing his appreciation for the development of highways and road infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari. In a tweet, the Lt Governor remarked, “Grateful to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji for highways & infrastructure development of unprecedented magnitude in J&K and completion of projects at an extraordinary speed.”

The Lt Governor further praised the leadership of Prime Minister, stating that Jammu and Kashmir are experiencing a resurgence under his guidance. He highlighted the significant strides made by the Union Territory in socio-economic development and affirmed its strengthened position.

The completion of the 1.08 km viaduct and the impending opening of the parallel structure demonstrate the commitment of the government to improving the infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir. These projects will not only facilitate smoother transportation but also contribute to the overall progress and prosperity of the region.
