Medical Negligence Allegedly Caused Two Deaths, DM Seeks FIR

SRINAGAR: District Magistrate Kupwara has requested an FIR to be filed against a private clinic in response to alleged medical negligence by the doctors, resulting in the deaths of two patients.

In a communication addressed to SSP Yougal Manhas, District Magistrate Kupwara, Dr Doifode Sagar Dattatray urged the initiation of an FIR and an investigation against the ‘ESS BEE’ clinic.

The communication states, “It has come to my attention that two individuals, namely Mudasir Rashid Sofi, son of Abdul Rashid Sofi, a resident of Potushahi, Lolab, and Tahira Begum, wife of Qaiser Ahmad Wani, a resident of Tikipora Lolab, have reportedly lost their lives due to alleged medical negligence at ESS BEE clinic in Kupwara.”

“In light of this, I kindly request that an FIR be registered, and a preliminary inquiry be conducted into these incidents,” the communication further states.

It is important to note that the investigation into the incident has already been initiated under the office’s order number DCK/2023/209/977-80, dated 16-05-2023, as mentioned in the communication. (GNS)
