SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCC&I) stated on Tuesday that the unpredictable power supply has resulted in significant losses to industrial, business, trade, and tourism establishments.
According to the KCC&I, they have been closely observing the continuous deterioration of power supply, particularly to the industrial and business sectors, and are deeply concerned.
The statement highlighted that the erratic power supply, characterized by frequent breakdowns and unscheduled shutdowns, is causing unbearable disruptions to public life in all areas.
The KCC&I expressed frustration, stating, “When we try to contact the Chief Engineer, he evades providing a convincing explanation about the prevailing problematic power supply system. As a consequence of the frequent interruptions, not only households suffer, but industrial, business, trade, and tourism establishments also endure unexplained losses and mental distress.”
Consequently, the KCC&I called upon the administration to thoroughly consider the issue and the associated problems, and to take measures to rectify the system. They emphasized the need for uninterrupted 24×7 power supply, which is the legitimate right of the people across all aspects of public life.
