SRINAGAR: Police on Friday claimed to have killed five militants in an encounter in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that five foreign militants have been killed in a joint operation in the Jumagand area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
In a tweet, while quoting ADGP Kashmir, The Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “KupwaraEncounterUpdate: Five (05) foreign militants killed in encounter. Search in the area is going on.”
The identification of slain militants is yet to be ascertained. When last reports came search operation was going on in the area.
