SRINAGAR: A joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force against militants in the Broh forest area of Kalakote tehsil in Rajouri entered into the third day on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, search operation has been expanded in the area, while no fresh firing has been reported so far. The senior officials are reported to be monitoring the situation at the encounter site.
“The operation against the militants is going on in full swing and people are fully supporting security personnel in the search and cordon operation,” spokesperson said.
Based on specific intelligence input, the encounter had broken out on Monday evening between militants and security forces in the forest area of Kalakote.
As per the latest inputs , intense operations are in progress in the area to neutralize the militants. The militants are believed to be Pakistanis and are equipped with sophisticated weapons and explosives.
