SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the air show and air awareness campaign at Air Force Station, Satwari on Friday.
The event was jointly organised by the Indian Air Force and the J&K Government to mark the 76th anniversary of J&K’s accession to the Indian Union and the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Air Force Station, Jammu.
“The Indian Air Force is a symbol of strength, bravery, and dedication. I salute the Indian Air Force personnel for their heroism and spirit of sacrifice. My deepest gratitude to the Air Warriors and their families,” the Lt Governor said.
Citizens from various walks of life gathered to witness the spectacular aerial display by IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), Air Warrior Drill Team, the Akashganga Daredevil Skydiving Team, and the Mi-17 1V helicopters.
The aircraft maneuvered in the skies, and the Air Warriors showcased their flying and formation skills with precision.
The general public was also educated about aviation hazards and how they can contribute to aviation safety through this unique air show in Jammu.
Later, Sinha honored the defense personnel and members of the Aerobatic and Skydiving teams to commemorate the occasion.
Air Vice Marshal PK Vohra, AOC J&K, Ladakh; Air Commodore SS Rawat, AOC, Air Force Station, Jammu; Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt Governor; Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; BR Sharma, State Election Commissioner J&K; senior officers of IAF, Civil and Police Administration, and the Army attended the event.
