SRINAGAR: Government Wednesday named a Primary School in honour of a killed policeman who was the security guard of government gunman turned politician Kuka Parrey in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.
The school is located at Bonikhan Hajin and was known as Government Primary School Bonikhan.
A function that was presided by the Naib Tehsildar Altaf Hussain was held in the school and it was re-named as ‘Martyr Shri Zahoor Ahmed Government Primary School’.
Besides, Naib Tehsildar, the rechristened ceremony was attended by Chief Education Officer Bandipora Muhammad Amin, Zonal Education Officer Hajin Abdul Rahim Lone and the family member of the slain cop.
Adil Zahoor, the son of the slain cop said that they are grateful to the government for honoring late Zahoor Ahmed Parray.
Pertinently, constable Zahoor Ahmed Parray was killed in 2003 when militants carried out an attack on the vehicle of Kuka Parray when he was on his way to inaugurate a cricket match in Sonawari Sumbal. [KNT]
